Designating a Beneficiary

Overview

If you do not have a spouse, you may name anyone to receive the death/survivor benefit if you pass away.

If you are in a spousal relationship, that person is your primary beneficiary unless there is a signed Spouse's Waiver on file. Your spouse would be designated as your primary beneficiary and you may choose to name a contingent beneficiary(ies) to receive the benefit if your spouse predeceases you.

Designation of Beneficiary form

Spousal Waiver of Death Benefits Prior to Retirement form (if applicable)

Declaration of Common-law Relationship - Member form (if applicable)

Processing Time

Beneficiary changes completed online are immediate.

If you mail a request, processing will be completed in approximately three business days of receipt of required documents.

Fees

It is free to update your beneficiary(ies).

Get Started

Online Account

Select the Beneficiaries menu item and follow the prompts to add or edit a beneficiary.

Select My Secure Messages menu item and upload the completed and signed form(s) to PEPP.

Email Option

Email the completed and signed form(s) to PEPP at pepp@plannera.ca.

Phone/Mail-in Option

Mail the completed and signed form(s) to PEPP.
